What is Smartsight?

Smartsight by the Schwind Atos laser is the latest technology to correct refractive error (myopia and astigmatism). It is minimally invasive, and vision recovery is fast and comfortable.

Smartsight uses one laser to perform all the steps. It creates a thin lenticule that corrects the glasses prescription, and this is removed through a small incision in the cornea.

Benefits include:

• Minimally invasive and no creation of a flap in the cornea

• Quick day surgery procedure

• Less incidence of dry eyes post-operatively

• Quick visual recovery which is relatively comfortable

• Work (office-based) can be resumed in 48 hours or so. If you work in a dusty or dirty environment then a longer recovery time may be advised.
