LASIK
What is LASIK?
LASIK is the most common laser refractive procedure performed worldwide. It can successfully treat a wide range of refractive error, and visual recovery is rapid and relatively comfortable.
LASIK involves two lasers: a femtosecond laser creates a thin flap in the cornea which is lifted up, and then an excimer laser reshapes the underlying cornea to correct the glasses prescription.
Benefits include:
Safe and proven technology with high success rates and low risk
Quick day surgery procedure
Rapid visual recovery which is relatively comfortable
Work (office-based) can be resumed in 48 hours or so. If you work in a dusty or dirty environment then a longer recovery time may be advised.
